St. Mary’s Catholic Catfish Dinner March 4

I hope everyone enjoyed the Presidents’ Day Holiday. Navasota ISD was off for the holiday.

There will be a Birthday Party with the Wolves at Saint Francis Wolf Sanctuary, 6731 Pavlock Rd., in Navasota, Saturday, Apr. 16, from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Texas Independence Day Celebration will be held Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 26-27, at Washington on the Brazos, 23400 Park Road 12, in Washington. The event is free and will include live music, food vendors, demonstrations, quilting etc.

Early voting for the 2022 Primary Election began Monday, Feb. 14. Early voting ends Feb. 25. Early voting locations include Grimes County Courthouse, 100 South Main Street in Anderson and at the Navasota Center, 101 Stadium Drive in Navasota. Regular voting hours are 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Extended voting hours are Tuesday, Feb. 25, from 7 a.m. till 7 p.m. Election day is Tuesday, March 1.

Mark your calendars for the St, Mary’s Catholic Church Catfish Dinner Friday, March 4. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. There will be a silent auction, gun raffle, refreshments etc.

The 10th Annual Plantersville Crawfish Festival and Cookoff will be held Saturday, Apr. 30, beginning at 11 a.m. at 19318 FM 1774 in Plantersville.

Navasota Farmers Market will be held Saturday, March 12, from 9 a.m. till 1 p.m. at Navasota Public Library. New vendors will also be at the market.

The annual Texas Farm Bureau Photo Contest is an opportunity for members to share their best pictures with the entire Lone Star State and maybe even win a cash prize. To enter the contest, you must be a Texas Farm Bureau member or an immediate family member of a Texas Farm Bureau member and a resident of Texas. An immediate family member would be a spouse, child, sibling, or parent, and includes relations by marriage. Entries are due June 1. Visit https://txfb.us/photocontest22 for more details.

The 5th annual King’s Daughter Conference was rescheduled from Jan. 8. It will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, March 22 at The Place of Grace, 8658 CR313 in Blackberry Community, Plantersville. Speakers are Apostle Lisa Wells, Pamela Payne, Lisa St Claire and Evangelist Carolyn Steptoe Coleman. Call 979-492-4534 for more info.

The 2nd Annual A Cause for Paws Fundraiser Festival benefitting Grimes County Animal Rescue will be held Saturday, March 26, at 5:30pm at the Grimes County Expo Center. Music will be performed by A tribute to George Strait by Derek Spence. Thanks in advance.

For I Will Restore Health to You and Heal You of Your Wounds! Jeremiah 30:17. Grimes County keep praying until something happens, people begin loving their fellowman, our nation is in unity and this virus is gone! Thank God they have a vaccine but keep praying. Prayer changes things!
