Letter to the editor

September 04, 2019 - 12:16

Editor

On September 8, 2019 myself and more than 600 of my fellow ACT Leads from all 50 states, Puerto Rico and Guam will be taking your voice to congress on cancer issues that all survivors face. We will ask for them to co-sponsor HR1570 /S668 Removing Barriers to Colorectal Screenings Act and HR647/ S2080 PCHETA Palliative Care Health Education Training Act. We will also be asking for increase funding for cancer research and patient services.

Also, on September 10 at 7:30 p.m. we will be honoring and remembering all those who have had cancer at our Lights of Hope Ceremony with more 35,000 bags lighting up the reflection pond at the Lincoln Memorial, this is a beautiful but humbly site to see. Each bag there will have a name of someone who has fought this disease.

It is my honor to go to DC and be your voice.

Sincerely yours,

Dodi Emmons

Washington, TX
