“General Washington” speaks to DAR

    The highlight of the Robert Raines Chapter NSDAR Sept. 25 meeting was Grimes County Judge Joe Fauth’s informative and often humorous account of the life of General George Washington before, during and after the Revolutionary War.

    Pocahontas Society NSCAR members received a lesson on the Flag Code and how to properly handle and fold the American flag from Korean War Veteran Carl Dry.

Robert Raines Chapter NSDAR and Pocahontas Society NSCAR held their meetings on Saturday, September 25th. Judge Joe Fauth presented a talk in costume about the life of President George Washington. Lunch, provided by Mary Lavender, was served by the Pocahontas Society members to the Robert Raines Chapter members.

After the meeting, Pocahontas Society members held their meeting, led by President Mackenzie Mayfield, and then traveled to VFW Post 4006, where Korean War Veteran Carl Dry gave a talk on the Flag Code and taught them how to properly handle and fold the flag. Following Mr. Dry’s talk, members worked on Texas CAR projects.
