A sexual assault of a child warrant for a Navasota man, Robert Crawford, 78, was served Saturday, Sept. 4.
Navasota Police Chief Shawn Myatt stated after a multi-month investigation into allegations of Crawford sexually assaulting children in Navasota for several decades, a warrant was obtained for his arrest.
During an interview with Navasota Police and Grimes County District Attorney Investigators, Crawford confessed to several sexual assault allegations. On Sept. 13, Crawford was charged with aggravated sexual assault which is a first-degree felony.
Crawford is currently in the Grimes County Jail and as of Monday, Sept. 13, a bond had not been set.
