Citizen of the Year

Master Benjamin Mendez (right) accepts the Navasota Grimes County Chamber of Commerce’s Citizen of the Year award at the Roaring 20s annual awards banquet Thursday night at Camp Allen. As noted by the nomination submission, Mendez received this award “for his ongoing work with the Kick-Start Kids Program as well as with Boy Scout Troop 361. He has been and continues to be a positive influence on the youth in our area, helping kids to reach their full potential so they can have the tools needed to succeed as adults.”
