The city of Navasota will be hosting the annual winter event Home for the Holidays at the City Hall plaza in downtown Navasota Saturday, Dec. 14.

The event will consist of inflatables, pictures with Santa Claus, artificial snow machine, ice attack game, ice skating, and treats from local vendors.

This year’s theme is “Navasota Express,” chosen because of the recent visits from Union Pacific Big Boy 4014 and Bush 4141 Train as well as the Train Town USA designation by Union Pacific

Events will be ongoing from noon till 4 p.m. followed by a lighted community Christmas parade at 6 p.m. The parade will begin on Brosig Avenue and journey down Washington Avenue through historic downtown Navasota ending its route on Ninth Street.

Parade attendees are encouraged to walk over to the City Hall plaza to view the lighting of the Christmas tree immediately after the parade.

This event was created to provide holiday entertainment and create memories for families.

Home for the Holidays is free, and everyone is encouraged to attend.
