Delayed emergency response time was the crux of citizen objections at the March 20 Public Hearing for the proposed closure of the Union Pacific Railroad crossing on CR 308 south of SH 105 E. The hearing preceded the Regular Meeting of Grimes County Commissioners Court. According to County Engineer Jon Steiber,
