SECOND TOUR COMING ON SEPTEMBER 9

Special to The Examiner

TODD MISSION – The King of the Texas Renaissance Festival and its partners take a tour of Conroe to raise awareness and funds for the Montgomery County Food Bank Wednesday, Aug. 24. A second tour, of Galveston County, is planned for Sept. 9 to benefit the Galveston County Food Bank. “The King believes that it’s important for the Kingdom to support the surrounding community,” said Carl Foy, Marketing Director for Texas Renaissance Festival. “The need for support from food banks is on the rise. We felt that doing a road trip, broadcasting their message at each stop and telling the story of the food banks, its volunteers, and key partners in the community is very meaningful.” Tour number one, in Conroe, was held Aug. 24. There were four tour stops in total, Montgomery County Food Bank, Hunger Crush Café, The Ferm Meadery and Southern Star Brewery. “Last month alone, Montgomery County Food Bank serviced over 70,000 meals,” said Kristine Marlow, President of the Montgomery County Food Bank during a Facebook Live. “Through our community partners, a $1 donation means up to five meals.” Donations can still be made at https://give.mcfoodbank.org/ texasrenfest22 Tour number two will take the King and his court to Galveston, where there will be another four tour stops.
