Lions Club launches fundraising raffle

“Lions serve” is the Navasota Noon Lions Club motto and mission in life. The best opportunity for the club to do that is by the Annual Gun and Gift Card Raffle. It is through this fundraiser that the club can serve in six categories for Navasota and Grimes County: Hunger, Vision, Youth, Environmental, Health (including diabetes and pediatric cancer) and the local Navasota High School Leo Club.

The outreach in the community is massive, but the Noon Lions are always striving to do more. Public participation in this raffle allows the club to meet and, hopefully, exceed their goals. A $100 ticket gives you the chance to win not once, but 52 times beginning December 2019 through November 2020. Not many times in life do you get that kind of chance with one ticket purchase.

Prizes include 40 guns and 12 gift cards worth $500 each which are drawn twice a month at the regular meetings. There are only 500 tickets sold, which increases odds of winning. It gets better. Winners names are put back in the drawing for potential additional wins. And those selected don’t need to be present to win.

For those who aren’t gun advocates, there is something for you as well. You may exchange the value of your gun for ammo, camping goods, clothing or shoes from Burdett and Sons Outdoor Adventures catalog or an in-store purchase. There’s something for everyone. As an additional bonus to those who are gracious enough to purchase from outside the College Station area, the gun may be mailed to FFL in the winner’s area at a small additional charge. Winning is made easy. With $100 investment in the future of the community buys you a chance.

The Noon Lions Club accepts cash, checks or credit cards. Contact your local Noon Lions member and open your pocketbook with a smile when they call upon you. Everyone is invited to attend one of the meetings at First Baptist Church in Navasota, October and November: first Tuesday’s at Noon and third Tuesdays 6 p.m. The public is invited to see the fun, excitement and pride involved in serving Grimes County.
