The Grimes County 5th Annual Marvin Longabaugh Chili Bowl held on historic Railroad street in Navasota was a pot full of success.

On Saturday, March 7, 34 teams competed in the Chili Bowl that is hosted by the Navasota Kiwanis Club. Sons of Jesse Smokehouse Chili prevailed with a three-peat in the “People’s Choice” category.

In the Chili Appreciation Society International division, Matt Rummelhart from Katy secured first place. Finishing second and third respectively were Sherrie Davis from South Houston and Earl “Who” Gorhum from Montgomery.

A wrapped stove paying tribute to Longabaugh and his love for Whataburger was also raffled off. The winner was Diane Lewis.
