Proposed Plantersville VFW meeting May 7

Interest is growing for a Veterans of Foreign War charter in the Plantersville area.

An informational meeting is being held Sunday, May 7, at The Whiskey Tango Bar and Grill, at the intersection of CR 302 and CR 304 from 6:30–8 p.m. To form a charter, the proposed Plantersville VFW will need 25 members.

Veterans who have served on foreign soil are eligible to become members. Learn more about membership qualifications at www. vfw.org. Veterans are urged to bring their DD 214.

Skylar Grace Benefit

Grimes County VFW Post 4006 is hosting a loaded baked potato benefit for 4-year-old Skylar Grace at the post, 1575 W. Washington Avenue in Navasota, Monday, May 8, beginning at 2 p.m.

Skylar is in Katy Children’s Hospital fighting Abdominal Adhesion Intestinal Obstruction, meaning her bowel has wrapped itself around the intestines and is cutting off digestion and blood flow.
