Navasota Mayor Bert Miller will deliver his annual State of the City address Thursday, Jan. 9, at the Navasota Center. The State of the City which is co-hosted each year by the Navasota Grimes County Chamber of Commerce and The Navasota Examiner newspaper, is scheduled to begin with check-in and coffee at 10 a.m. with the program running from 10:30 a.m. till 1 p.m. The event combines a review of the prior year’s accomplishments and a look at major issues facing Navasota.

The Mayor is expected to celebrate the success of the prior year in economic development, new construction and outline a plan for growth through various infrastructure projects. Other presenters include Matt Prochaska, President and CEO of the Brazos Valley Economic Development Corporation, Grimes County Judge Joe Fauth and Navasota ISD School Superintendent Dr. Stu Musick.

Reserved seating is available for $10 per person for Chamber members, $15 for non-members, and includes lunch. General admission is free beginning at 11:45 a.m. for those who wish to hear only the Mayor’s speech. This event is chiefly underwritten by Martin Marietta, Mid-South Synergy, NOV Grant Prideco, Republic Services, Trinity Heads and Williams Brothers Construction, with additional support from the Navasota Examiner, BodyBilt Seating, Citizens State Bank and 42 Place Apartments.
