TIPS LEAD TO NARCOTICS BUST

Navasota Police arrested two Navasota men, 24-year old Jermaine Williams and 25-year old Dontrell Richardson, during a narcotic’s bust Thursday, Dec. 2.

According to Navasota Police Chief Shawn Myatt, an investigation was being conducted at a home in the 200 block of Fanthorp Street in refer ence to narcotics activity and tips from recent shootings.

“Officers observed a vehicle leaving the residence and attempted a traffic stop,” explained Myatt. “The vehicle was located on the 400 block of Bell Street, and after a short foot pursuit Jermaine Williams. was taken into custody.” Myatt stated Williams was in possession of a stolen pistol from Houston, suspected marijuana and cash money.

Officers located the passenger Richardson, who was in possession of marijuana. During the search of the vehicle, a second firearm and additional marijuana were found. With the assistance from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) agents, Navasota Police executed a search warrant at the residence in the 200 block of Fanthorp Street. Officers seized over five pounds of marijuana and other items related to narcotics trafficking.

Williams and Richardson are both booked into the Grimes County Jail. Williams is being charged with Tampering with Evidence, Possession of Marijuana 5lbs-200lbs, Felon in Possession of Firearm, Evading, and Possession of Stolen Firearm. Richardson is being charged with Possession of Marijuana, 5lbs-200lbs.
