Navasota Police responded to Compass Bank, 603 East Washington Avenue in Navasota at approximately 2 a.m. Wednesday Aug. 7 for an attempted burglary of an ATM located in the drive-thru.

Upon arrival officers noticed the ATM was damaged. Officers located a truck nearby in the Navasota ISD administration building parking lot. Officers verified the truck was used in a failed burglary attempt of the ATM.

The truck was determined to be owned by Navasota Landscape, 9827 Texas State Highway Business 6. Grimes County Sheriff deputies were contacted, and it was learned the vehicle had been broken into and stolen. It was also discovered a second vehicle at Navasota Landscape had been broken into in a failed attempt to steal the vehicle.

Navasota Police and Investigators from Grimes County are continuing their investigation. Anyone with information on the incident or the suspect(s) involved are urged to contact Grimes County Crime Stoppers, 936-873-2009.
