Vicious trailer park assault leaves man unconscious

A Navasota man was fighting for his life after a violent assault Thursday, Dec. 9, left him unresponsive.

According to a press release from Grimes County Sherriff’s Office, at approximately 6:37 p.m., Deputies were dispatched to Justice Lane in the Grassy Creek Trailer Park for an assault in progress with one male left unconscious. Deputies arrived on scene and began life saving efforts. The male victim, whose name is being withheld, was air-lifted to a local hospital.

Grimes County Sherriff’s Office reached out to the public via the GCSO Facebook page attempting to locate Dillon Nobles, who was wanted for questioning in the aggravated assault. It was said Nobles also had active warrants in Grimes County as well as with other agencies.

Nobles later turned himself in and was taken into custody. He is charged with Aggravated Assault Causing Serious Bodily Injury with a Deadly Weapon, a first-degree felony, and Assault Causes Bodily Injury a Class A misdemeanor. He is currently being held in the Grimes County Jail on a $130,000 bond.

Grimes County Sherriff’s Office stated the incident is still under investigation. An update on the condition of the victim has not been released.
