Funeral services for Clifton Gilbert were held 12:00 p.m. Saturday, March 27, 2021, at Salem House of Blessings in Navasota. Clifton Green, 70, of Navasota, passed away March 21, 2021, in Navasota, surrounded by his immediate family.

Clifton was born June 29, 1950 to Ms. Johnnie Gilbert, in Iola, TX. He briefly attended the community school, before attending Houston ISD, after which he received his GED. Clifton furthered his education, attending welding school.

Clifton worked at Todd Shiyards Corp., Houston division; Hackney, Inc., Navasota division; and Blue Bell Creameries, Brenham division. He was awarded a Perfect Attendance and Employee of the Year recognition from Blue Bell. Clifton was a member of the Navasota-Grimes County Lions Club.

He leaves a legacy with his sons, Stanley Gilbert and spouse, Tiffany of Navasota; Patrick Gilbert and spouse, Nicole of Brenham; grandchildren, Stanley, Jr., Maddison, Rheese and Arielle Gilbert and Trevor Ray.

Following the cremation services Friday, April 2, 2021, Clifton’s cremains were interred next to his mother, Johnnie, in the St. Louis Cemetery, CR 103, in Iola.
