Rita Zaragoza, 78, of Navasota, passed away Wednesday, May 4, at her son Matthew’s home in Madison, Alabama. Visitation with family and friends was held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 10, at Nobles Funeral Chapel. A celebration of her life will be held 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 11, at Faith Outreach Christian Center in Navasota with interment following in Oakland Cemetery. Pastor Henry Sanders will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.

Rita was born in Navasota, Texas on January 29, 1944, to Albert and Frances (Rodriguez) Garza. She attended school in Navasota and worked as a homemaker and a supply manager for St. Joseph Hospital in Bryan. She enjoyed baking, working in her yard, and taking the occasional trip to the casino with her sisters.

She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Alexander and Ana Zaragoza, Sr., David Zaragoza and Matthew and Christine Zaragoza; daughter, Kathy Zaragoza; sister, Delores Medina; grandchildren, Kristi (Tim), Jennifer, Diana Rae (Robert), Danielle, Alexander, Jr., Kayla and Briana; and five great-grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers are Tino Baldobino, Jr., Henry Zaragoza, Jr., Robert Zaragoza, Jr., Alexander Zaragoza, Jr., Justin Zaragoza and Tim Baker. Cade Zaragoza is named as an Honorary Pallbearer.

Rita was preceded in death by her parents, daughters Connie, Jennifer and Yvonne and sister Elaine Walker.
