Graveside services for Tommy Prosper, 69, of Navasota, will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 27, 2020, at Dennis Bryant Cemetery, located at CR 415 off of HWY 105. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 6: p.m. Friday, July 26, 2020, at Friendship Baptist Church, 1111 S. LaSalle Street in Navasota. Tommy passed away July 14 at Memorial Herman Hospital in Houston, Texas.

On February 20, 1953 a baby boy was born to John Robert Prosper Sr. and Tommie Dale Prosper in Navasota, Texas that they named Tommy James Prosper. Tommy was a dedicated worker in the pluming profession. He worked, all together, over 40 years with Aggieland Plumbing, Brutt Plumbing, A-1 Plumbing and A-1 Septic Plumbing. At the time of his death he was employed with A-1 Septic Plumbing Service in Bryan – a job he loved very much. Tommy was known all over as the “TP Plumber”.

Tommy met Marilyn Stella Burrell in 1985 and was married in holy matrimony on November 28, 1991. To this union they were blessed with four children – Janice, James, Earnest and Annie. Tommy was not a person of many words, but you always knew exactly where he stood at all times. Tommy was a trust-worthy and dependable person.

Tommy was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Janice Prosper; brothers, Lafayette Prosper, Sr., Charles Ray Prosper and Dennis Wayne Prosper; and sisters, Esther M. Prosper, Louise Boggess and Dorthy L. Palmer.

Tommy James Prosper leaves to cherish his precious memories his loving wife of over 35 years, Marilyn (Stella) Prosper; daughters, Annie (Cathy) Jefferson of Navasota and Jeanette Caldwell of Houston, TX; sons, James Jefferson, Jr. of Bryan, TX and Earnest (Valerie) Jefferson of Navasota, TX; 12 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; sisters, Emma Jean (Robert) Chatman, Doris M. Bullock and Thelma Fielding; brothers Marcellas (Bobby) Prosper, Robert Prosper and Richard (Norma) Prosper all of Houston, TX; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and other beloved relatives.

Arrangements are entrusted to Lewis Funeral Home and Chapel of Brenham, TX.
