Mrs. Rhumodell Crouch, 93, of Iola, died Friday morning, Nov. 16, 2018, at her home. Funeral services were held 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 19, 2018, at Lindley-Robertson- Holt Funeral Home with the Rev. Monroe Rice of Cross Baptist Church of the Cross Community offi ciating. Interment followed in Lake Grove Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Chuck Glass, Jason Snook, Josh Snook, Clint Thomas, Anthony Garner and Kalem Evans. Rhumodell was born Aug. 4, 1925, in Mesa, Texas, to Locke and Mattie Turner Davis. It was Jan. 16, 1943, that she married Jack Crouch. They lived in Brazoria for a number of years and moved to Iola when he retired. She loved gardening and being around her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Rhumodell also loved to quilt and sew. But the most important thing was her family and making them happy. Mama and Maw Maw and her unselfi sh love will be deeply missed. Rhumodell was preceded in death by her parents, Locke and Mattie Davis; step-mother, Bertha Davis Rae; husband, Jack Crouch; daughter-in-law, Ronda Crouch; sisters, Lela Ellison and Velma Bryant; brothers, Frank, Ernest, A.J. and Elwood Davis; and son, James E. Crouch. Survivors include sons, Dennis Crouch, Joe Bob Crouch and wife Johnnie Sue, Tommy Crouch and wife Laurie, all of Brazoria and Billy Crouch of Angleton; daughters, Jean Brister and husband Larry, Mary Snook, Rhonda Glass and husband Charlie, Sally Thomas and husband Michael, Shirley Garner and husband Russell and Linda Evans and husband Ronnie, all of Iola; a sister, Noreen Cantu of Mercedes; a brother, James Davis of Riverside, CA; 29 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great-grandchildren.
