Fangs run in Becker Invitational

The Navasota Fang Cross Country team competed in the Anderson-Shiro Becker Invitational Cross Country Meet Wednesday, Sept. 22, with all Fang runners improving their times.

Seventh grader Cesar Garcia finished 11th out of 80 runners with a time of 15:24. Other Fang finishers in the seventh-grade boys division were Yosbel Garcia, 40th (18:05); Gabriel Castaneda, 41st (18:18); Samuel Thomas, 50th (19:14); Hugo Garcia, 60th (19:59); Israel Puebla, 65th (20:45); Michael Hernandez, 77th (24:07).

In the seventh-grade girls division Xandanda Garcia was the top Fang finisher placing 41st out of 84 runners with a time of 20:50. Other Fang finishers included Linda Castaneda Gomez, 53rd (22:54); Ami ra Randhawa, 59th (24:11); Marcela Meza-Alcantara, 63rd (24:22); Dulce Peralta, 67th (24:54).

Bailey Garza was the top Fang eight-grade girls finisher placing 50th (22:09), out of 71 competitors. Celeste Coronilla finished 58th with a time of 24:39.

The Fangs will compete at the Latexo Tiger Run at Hickory Creek Ranch in Crockett Wednesday, Oct. 6.
