Lady Bulldogs win again

It was an emotional week for the Iola community, but the Iola Lady Bulldogs kept the winning streak going.

Iola defeated Round Top (3-0) on Tuesday, Sept. 20 (25-17, 25-16, 25-12). The JV Lady Bulldogs secured a victory over Round Top as well.

Friday, Sept. 23 at Centerville The Lady Bulldogs won their district-opener over Centerville Friday, Sept. 23 (2519, 25-17, 25-21). Centerville fans wore maroon shirts to show their support for the Iola community who lost a student earlier in the week. The junior varsity team won their game against the Lady Tigers as well.

“I am very proud of our girls,” said Iola Head Coach Jamie McDougald. “They are great kids and showed a lot of mental toughness this week. We are also grateful for all of our football team and fans for showing up and supporting us on Friday. The show of support meant a lot!”

Anderson JV Journey

Iola’s junior varsity team won the Anderson JV tournament last week. They had wins over Brazos Christian, Navasota and Anderson.

Iola hosted the Leon Lady

Cougars Tuesday, Sept. 27 (results were not available at press time). On Friday, Sept. 30, Iola will journey to Normangee where they will play the Lady Panthers. Come out to give the Iola Lady Bulldogs your support.
