Owls fly into volleyball season

Volleyball action is in full swing in Grimes County. The Anderson-Shiro Lady Owls opened the season with scrimmages at Giddings High School Aug. 4 facing off against the Lady Buffs, Burton and Round-Top Carmine. They hosted Leon and Somerville Aug. 5. The Owls will compete in the Fairfield tournament Aug. 9 and 11, and will host Iola Aug. 11, beginning at 4:30 p.m. and Normangee Aug. 15, with games slated for 5 and 6 p.m.
