The Celebration of Life for Allan Stafford was a wonderful tribute to him. Several VFW members ventured to White Hall to attend. Little Man went to church with me on Sunday. He tickles me because he waves to everyone. His buddy, Jim Britt, took him into church and I was invited to sit with them. That little boy stayed busy, but he was quiet. Being that he loves to color and look at books, he was having a great time with the bag of goodies the church offers

There, the first draft of the Declaration of Independence for the Republic of Texas is possibly in his handwriting. In his late political career, at the time of the Civil War, he was often referred to as a Unionist because of his birth state of Connecticut.
