The Navasota High School Rattler Barbeque team, “The Pit Strikers,” competed at their first high school cookoff at Bryan High School, March 1. Navasota competed against 26 other schools and earned champion ribeye steaks, placed seventh overall and won 7th grade for grilled cheese.

Eight students from Navasota High School earned the Global Seal of Biliteracy. The prestigious Global Seal of Biliteracy is an international language certificate available in over 100 languages that recognizes and celebrates a level of proficiency in two or more languages.

Navasota High School Rattler Band members competed at the UIL Region 27 Solo and Ensemble Contest, Feb. 22, at Langham Creek High School. Rattler Band members earned 28 medals and had 16 State qualifiers. The State Solo and Ensemble Contest will be held in Austin in May.

Chase Johnson and Merideth Wrobleski competed at the Texas Junior High Rodeo Association Region 9 State Qualifier. Johnson and Wrobleski are the TJHRA Region 9 Ribbon Roper and Ribbon Runner. Wrobleski is a four–time TJHRA Region 9 State qualifier.
