Navasota Grimes County Chamber of Commerce recognized the new artist in town, Sarah Gomez, at the ribbon cutting ceremony held Friday, June 23, at the Horlock House in Navasota. Gomez is the newest artist participating in the "Artist in Residence Program". The art will be on display through August 14.

Joining Navasota’s many supporters of the Artist in Residence program were Gomez’s parents and friends from San Antonio and Houston. The Artist in Residence program, which hosted its first residents in 2014, is made possible through the collaborative efforts of the City of Navasota and the Arts Council of the Brazos Valley utilizing hotel/motel occupancy taxes.
