Earl John LaFontaine, Jr., 80, of Navasota, Texas passed away peacefully Wednesday May 6, 2020, surrounded by family at his home. Visitation was held Tuesday, May 12, 2020, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Nobles Funeral Chapel. There was a private graveside service. A memorial service will be held to celebrate his life at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.

Mrs. Frances Flores, (formerly of Navasota) 80, of Iola, passed away Tuesday, May 5, at CHI St. Joseph Regional Health Center. Visitation with family and friends were held Saturday, May 9, from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. A memorial service celebrating her life was held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 30, at the family ranch, 9355 Panther Creek Road, Iola, Texas. Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Nobles Funeral Chapel.

Mabel Akin, 104, of Navasota, passed away Friday, April 17, 2020 at Seasons Assisted Living in Navasota. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic there was no funeral service or visitation. Rev. Mac Vaughn officiated at her burial service on April 24 at Oakland Cemetery. The family plans to hold a memorial service at a later date.

Helen C. Chapin died on April 11, 2020 at the age of 93, near Hendersonville, North Carolina. She was born September 23, 1926 in Eldorado, Oklahoma, the eldest child of W.I. (Bill) and Beulah B. Bates Chenault, and was raised in Millican, Texas. Helen attended business college in Houston, Texas, working afterwards at White Motor Company until she left to attend Howard Payne College in Brownwood, Texas.

Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Clepper, 86, of Navasota, passed away Monday, April 20, at her home. Calling hours were held Tuesday, April 21, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Nobles Funeral Chapel. Graveside services followed at 2:00 p.m. in Willowhole Cemetery in North Zulch with the Rev. Clyde Larrabee officiating. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, CDC guidelines were observed. Arrangements were under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.
