Iola Cemetery Association meeting June 24
Iola Cemetery Association will hold their annual meeting Saturday, June 24, at Zion Methodist Church beginning at 11 a.m. The Association maintains Zion and Enon Cemeteries in Iola. A variety of business will be handled. Anyone with family members buried in these cemeteries are invited to attend. Hope to see you there.
The monthly meeting of the Iola North Zulch Order of the Eastern Star No. 458 is Monday, June 26, at the Pyramid Masonic Lodge in North Zulch beginning at 6:30 p.m. with a covered dish meal. The business meeting will follow. All members are invited to attend.
Keith Civic Club will host their monthly meeting Thursday, June 22, at Keith Community Center. The meeting will begin with a covered dish meal followed by the business meeting. Everyone is invited to attend. Members are expected and visitors are always welcome.
Area residents were sorry to learn of the death of James “Jimbo” Dixon who passed away Monday, June 12, following a long illness. He was born Aug. 24, 1956. Surviving him are his four children – James, Wendy, Valorie and Mindy as well as a host of grandchildren and other family members. His funeral service was held at Evergreen Baptist Church Saturday, June 17. Rev. Blane Trant, a former minister of Evergreen Baptist presided over the service. A meal was served at Keith Community Center following the service. Do remember his children and other family members in your prayers.
