Early voting ends Nov. 3

There is less than a week remaining to take advantage of early voting for the Nov. 7, Constitutional Amendments Election. Early voting ends Friday, Nov. 3.

As of Friday, Oct. 27, there have been 418 Grimes County voters who cast their ballot in-person and 45 who have voted by mail-in-ballot. There are 19,854 registered voters within Grimes County.

Voters will decide the fate of 14 proposed constitutional amendments including the right to farm, cost-of-living adjustment for retired teachers, funding for water projects and more.

The Examiner published an in-depth series of articles, “Amending Texas’ Constitution, understanding the 2023 ballot Propositions” written by Connie Clements. The seven-week series of articles were published Sept. 6 through Oct. 18 and are available in the archives of the Navasota Examiner website, www. navasotaexaminer.com.

Early voting is available at two locations, the Grimes County Courthouse, 100 S Main Street in Anderson and the Navasota Center, 101 Stadium Drive in Navasota. Early voting hours are Wednesday, Nov. 1, from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. with extended voting hours the final two days, Nov. 2 and 3, from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m.

Election day voting, Tuesday, Nov. 7, is available at nine locations from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m.

• Navasota Center, 101 Stadium Drive, Navasota 77868.

• Shiro Civic Center, 9594 Volunteer Ave, Shiro, 77876.

• Keith Community Center, 8808 CR 172 Iola, 77861.

• Iola Community Center, 7264 Main St, Iola, 77861.

• Bedias Civic Center, 3652 Main St, Bedias, 77831.

• Plantersville Town Hall, 11335 Lodge Lane, Plantersville, 77363.

• Whitehall Community Center, 14536 FM 362 Navasota, 77868.

• Todd Mission City Hall, 21716 FM 1774, Plantersville, 77363.

Grimes County voters may vote at any location.
