A large truck hauling an oversized load took out multiple powerlines Friday, Jan. 8, causing power outages and blocking the roadway for several hours.
Just after 3 p.m. the truck was traveling west on Washington Avenue. The load being transported was unable to clear overhead powerlines resulting in multiple powerlines being pulled down.
Washington Avenue from Post Oak Street to North Judson Street remained closed until just after 9:30 p.m. Power
wasn’t restored until after 7 p.m. Many residents also said internet services were disrupted until late Saturday afternoon, Jan. 9.
