Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) began maintenance work Monday, Dec. 26, on the Navasota River Bridge along Texas State Highway 6.

The first phase began Monday and includes closing the outside (left) lane on Hwy. 6 Northbound and the Hwy 6 business entrance ramp to Hwy. 6. All northbound traffic on business 6 will be detoured to the Farm-to-Market Road 3090 overpass.

The second phase will begin once Phase 1 is complete and will include repair maintenance on the Hwy. 6 Southbound bridge.

Each phase will last approximately 30 days and the total project is scheduled to last 60 days.

TxDOT’s construction team plans to work daily, Monday through Sunday, until the completion of the project. Closures will be in place at all times and schedules are dependent on weather, field conditions and work progress.
