Clyde Edward Breedlove, 82, of Washington County, TX passed away March 19, 2022. Graveside services were held Saturday, March 26, at Liberty Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.

He was born on February 6, 1940, to Addie Roberta Breedlove and Charlie “Bubba” Breedlove. He was the ninth of ten children. Clyde attended schools at St. Matthews Mt. Zion High School. He inherited a talent for drawing and sketching from his mother. While in high school, Clyde drew posters for classroom mottos and yearly coronations.

Clyde was baptized and became an ordained deacon under the spiritual leadership of Rev. J.W. Brent of Houston, TX.

Clyde loved playing baseball with his younger brother Earnest Ray. His love for baseball drove him to form his own team, The Independence Green Socks. The Forest Inn, the business of his eldest sister Ocie and Big Man, was the happening place to be. Boy, they were a team to beat! A good game of domino’s was another great love of his. Clyde would often take his youngest child 9 or 10 at that time, to play in tournaments, which they would win from time to time. People were amazed at the talent and winning of the game.

He worked for Central Freight Liner for 20 years. After working at Grant Prideco twice, he then retired.

Clyde leaves to mourn his daughter, Felicia Colleen Breedlove Mireles (Victor) of Hempstead, TX and brother, Earnest Ray Breedlove of Old Washington, TX; stepson, Winston Breedlove and a host of other relatives.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 42 years, Annie Gladys Neal Breedlove and son, Clyde Edward Breedlove, Jr.
