Kevin Wade Stephens, 49, of Anderson, passed away Friday evening, March 24, 2023, at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 29, at Lindley-Robertson-Holt Funeral Home. A parish rosary and vigil service will begin at 7:00 p.m. with Deacon Russell Pasket as the presider. A Funeral Mass celebrating Kevin's life will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 30, at St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church, 1511 Hwy 90, in Anderson with Rev. Msgr. Adam S. McClosky as the celebrant. The rite of committal will follow in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Donny Yargo, Malcolm Meekins, Chase Werner, Thomas Moriarty, Wesley Hamlet, Bradley Wehmeyer, Frank Imhoff, Rayburn Imhoff and JJ Nienstedt. Named as honorary pallbearers are Kagan Stephens, Kason Yargo, Randy Gilleland, Chip Mosier, Josh and Oliver Garza, Chase Carr and fellow co-workers at Texas A&M Utilities and Energy Services -Utility Plant operators.

Kevin was born Sunday, October 14, 1973 in Freeport, Texas to Jerry and Phyllis Chavous Stephens. He graduated from Navasota High School in 1992 where he was involved in sports. It was on October 17, 1998 that he married Marti Kolbasinski at St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church in Anderson. Kevin loved sports and enjoyed being outdoors hunting and fishing, but his greatest love was spending time with his family. He supported his kids in everything they did and was an avid Owl fan. 

Kevin was preceded in death by a daughter, Lainee Elizabeth Stephens; father-in-law, Roy Lee Kolbasinski, paternal grandmother Iva Smith and maternal grandparents George and Brunie Chavous.

Survivors include his wife, Marti Stephens; daughter, Kynlee Elaine Stephens; son, Kagan Wade Stephens; parents, Jerry and Phyllis Stephens, all of Anderson; sister, Leslie Douget of Silsbee; mother-in-law, Dianne Kolbasinski; sisters-in-law, Kari Lynn Eisenman and Kaci Yargo and husband Donny, all of Anderson; nephew, Kason Yargo; nieces, Kelsie and Malcolm Meekins, Hallie Eisenman and Chase Werner, Brylee Yargo and Haley Douget and Chase Carr along with a host of other aunts, uncles, cousins and a great number of friends.
