Rattlers freshman beat the Falcons

HUFFMAN – The Rattler freshman scored in all four quarters to defeat the Huffman-Hargrave Falcons 49-28, Thursday, Sept. 15. Ashten Myles led the way for the Rattlers with four rushing touchdowns. Also scoring on the ground were Grayson Munoz, Elijah Jennings and Komarion Garrett. Giovanni Perez rushed for a 2-point-conversion, and Jaxson Bowman hauled in a 2-point reception from Mark McGinty.

Lady Bulldogs continue success

The top-ranked Iola Lady Bulldogs continue to work hard improving to 28-2 on the season. Iola wrapped up non-district with wins over Lovelady and Livingston. On Tuesday, Sept. 13, the Lady Bulldogs beat the Lovelady Lady Lions 3-0 (25-12, 25-12, 25-4). Leading with 22 kills was junior, Lindsey Gooch. Riley Goodney and Shaylee McKown were Iola’s leading servers. vs Livingston

Hoover vacuuming up ball-carriers

Even playing with a bulky cast, Blaine Hoover made an impression in his Tarleton State University football debut. The left defensive end out of Bedias had five tackles in the opener, a win over Mississippi Valley State. Hoover said a dozen programs showed interest in him after his past two years playing for University of the Incarnate Word. He had visitations to out-of-state schools scheduled in December. By January, he said, he committed to Tarleton State.
