One of my alderwomen, Karen McDuffie stepped up to the plate to become Mayor of Anderson. After serving 4 years, Karen decided not to run again this year. One of her aldermen, Marc Benton, threw his name in the hat with no opposition.

Waiting for her outside the office gave him the opportunity to be a greeter, telling everyone “bye” and doing his infamous knuckles bump!
Read moreFuneral services for our neighbor, David Joe Moore, were held at Connecting Point Church in College Station Saturday, May 13, with a full house of family and friends present. He was born Oct. 3, 1943 in California, the son of Joseph Isaac and Nola Mae Thornhill Moore. He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Jenni Ann Foster, and four children. David lived a life of service, learning and educating. His pastor Jason DeVerna conducted the service. There were many that spoke during the service. The Orphans Friend Masonic Lodge, which he was a member, was in charge of the close of the service. Clyde Collins lead the closing with 11 members present. Refreshments were served following the service. Remember his wife, children and other family members in your prayers.
