The group gives all Grimes County prekindergarten and kindergarten students at least two books of their own to take home. This project began several years ago and continues as a way for the organization to promote and encourage reading at an early age. Susan Boudreau chairs the project and is assisted by Marilyn Bettes. Read moreThe Navasota Police Department addressed speeding in the Heritage Meadows Subdivision in a Special Meeting Workshop May 12 during which Police Chief Mike Mize presented the results of a month-long traffic study on Heritage Drive and Mockingbird Street. The study was initiated following public comments April 14 and April 28 by subdivision resident Valerie Richardson, requesting a police presence and speed bumps to reduce speeding.
