Iola senior Lindsey Gooch finished with a time of 13:00.5 to place 52nd out of 150 runners at the UIL 2A State Cross Country Meet at Old Settler’s Park in Round Rock Nov. 4. This is the third time Gooch has run in the State meet.

BELLVILLE – It was a strong finish for the seventh- grade B team Fangs who earned a district title with a 34-6 win over Bellville. The seventh-grade A team placed second. The Fangs B team (7-1) scored a touchdown in each of the first three quarters and a pair of touchdowns to close out the game. Zaelyn Harris had a huge night with three touchdown runs. His first touchdown was a 33-yarder in the opening quarter. Quinnton Jessie ran in the conversion.
