I hope everyone is having a wonderful spring break!
•There will be a fund-raiser for Iola Youth Athletics major and junior girls. The girls have worked very hard and will be going to regionals and nationals for Little Dribblers basketball. Come out and support these little ladies from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 22, at the baseball fields and bid on some awesome silent auction deals.
You can also order a Mallets BBQ plate before March 19 by going on Facebook and searching for the IYA National Basketball Fundraiser. The plates are $10 a piece and will be available for pick up from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 22, at the Iola baseball fields. The plate will include a chopped beef sandwich, chips, drink and a chocolate chip cookie.
•Congratulations to the boys and girls varsity basketball players who made all-district!
•There will be a mandatory parent meeting at 6 p.m. Monday, March 18, in the high school cafeteria for any students who will be sophomores, juniors or seniors next school year and are interested in taking dual credit. A Blinn College representative will be there to discuss the benefits and difficulties of dual credit. Grade and testing requirements must be met in order to enroll in the program. Without attending this meeting, students will not be eligible to enroll. Likewise, if you attend, you are not required to enroll.
