Upcoming events in the area include the monthly meeting of the Iola-North Zulch Order of the Eastern Star No 458 which will meet in North Zulch at the Pyramid Masonic Lodge Feb. 22. The meeting will begin with a meal at 6 p.m. followed by the meeting. All members of the Fastern Star are invited to attend. Members are expected and visitors are always welcome.

Richards is no different, we have celebrated their wins, and mourned their losses- but enjoyed the progress of Panther athletics. The RISD High School boys ended their basketball season with a loss to North Zulch Friday, playing for entry into the playoffs at the Madisonville High School gym. The team contains three seniors: Joseph Miller, Reece Wrobleski and Darryl Lovings. All three were celebrated during senior night at RISD and were presented with a basketball from the team and gifts from parents. Athletes at RISD are gearing up for track and baseball now, with the school beginning work on the fields and coaches solidifying the spring schedule.
