The monthly meetings of both area Masonic lodges are upcoming. Orphans Friend Masonic Lodge No 17 will meet Monday, Apr. 4, at their lodge hall in Anderson. The meeting will begin with a covered dish meal at 6:30 p.m. Bedias Masonic Lodge No 651 will meet Tuesday, April 5, beginning with a covered dish meal at 6:30 p.m. All masons are invited to attend.

Rogers, a well-known Texas lawyer, soldier, law professor at Baylor University and Sam’s personal attorney.

Plantersville Stoneham Volunteer Fire Department is looking for a few good women and men to be firefighters and first responders. They meet and offer trainings every Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the station. Everyone is invited to attend. Applications are available.

A good sum of money was raised for Iola Volunteer Fire Department Friday and Saturday, March 11-12 during their annual fundraiser. On Friday crawfish was sold and Saturday they sold catfish with all the trimmings. There was also a live auction and barbecue cookoff. Thanks to all that helped make the event a success.
