Older brother Paul was old enough to plow, and so father bought a second yoke of oxen for $50 and rented more land. This required us to move farther from town. It was a four mile walk to school in good and bad weather, but we didn’t mind for there were several school boys along the road and we had good times together.

It was titled, “From the Brazos to the North Fork, the Autobiography of Otto Koeltzow.” The topic is of the early, often painful struggles, of immigrants into the still raw beginning of Texas in the late 1800s.

Read moreWelcome to Texas weather! My two daughters and I kept in touch until late Monday night. The storm appeared to be headed directly to Lyons where Joni and her family live. Thankfully for them, it took a turn. Since the tornado we had several years ago came right in my area, I get antsy when weather gets bad. Keep praying for our neighboring communities who were hit by this weather and suffered damages.
