Area residents were sorry to learn of the death of Cheryl Hunter Luce, 64, who passed away Jan. 31, in College Station. Her funeral was held in the Concord Chapel, Friday Feb. 4. The service was supposed to be held in the Concord Cemetery, but due to bad weather it was changed. Brother Matt Carey was the minister in charge of the service. Days Funeral Home was in charge of the funeral.

They will serve from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. Plates are $10 per plate, and you may take it to go or dine in. Tickets may be purchased in advance at the White Hall Store and from members of the church. Melilotus officinalis and M. albus are both called sweetclover or sweet clover. The difference is that M. albus has white flowers while those of M. officinalis are yellow. Some believe they are the same species. PubAg, the U.S. Department of Agriculture National Agricultural Library, pubag.nal. usda.gov, has an article about this, “Are Melilotus albus and M. officinalis conspecific?” Conspecific means belonging to the same species.

It has been nearly four months since the murder of Anthony De’Milo Williams, Jr. in Bedias, with no words of encouragement, or updates on the investigation. The GCSO shared that they were waiting for forensic reports from a Dallas lab. Is murder so low on the list of priorities for Texas law enforcement that this issue cannot be addressed in a timely manner?
