Mrs. Hertha Lee (Scherff) Isbell, 93, of Navasota, passed away on Wednesday, February 15. Visitation with family and friends was held Monday, February 20, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., at Nobles Funeral Chapel. A memorial service followed 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Caleb Schoenck (Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church of College Station, Texas) officiating. Terry Humphreys, 73 of Washington, Texas, passed away February 16, 2023.
Terry was born May 4, 1949 in San Antonio to Gussie and Phyllis (Harvey) Humphreys. He was a 1966 graduate of Highland High School in San Antonio and in 1970 received his Bachelor in Science Degree from Trinity University. Terry continued his education at Texas A&M University receiving a Master of Science Degree in Physics in 1982 and PhD in Physics in 1984. Terry thrived on work in science and technology. He was employed 1984-1998 by E Systems which then became Raytheon Technologies. He retired in 2014. On December 31, 1984, Terry married Barbara Kiel at Friedens United Church of Christ in Washington, Texas. He enjoyed cooking and loved animals.Read more

Richard was born in Trenton, MI, on December 23, 1950, to Homer Lay, Jr. and Mary Frances Crouch. He attended Dickinson High School, but later enlisted in the United States Marines Corps, at the age of 17. Richard proudly served his country for 11 years and was a Vietnam War veteran.Read more

Jim was born in Orange, TX, on December 17, 1948, to Menville & Dorothy Flippen. He graduated from Lutcher Stark High School in Orange, TX, and attended Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches, TX. While in college Jim began working at Metcalf Funeral Home which turned out to be the beginning of a career in the funeral industry that spanned 50 years. After graduating from the Commonwealth College of Sciences (Mortuary School) in 1973, Jim worked for Earthman’s Funeral Home and Levy Brothers Funeral Home before moving to the vendor side of the industry where he worked for Batesville Casket Company and Aurora Casket Company.Read more
