Don’t forget to vote this year. Early voting is Oct. 24 - Nov. 4. The locations for the early voting are Grimes County Courthouse and the Navasota Center, from at 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Extended voting hours are Tuesdays only, beginning from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. Election Day is Nov. 11 and there are 10 locations in the county for you to vote. As a Grimes County voter, you can vote at any of the 10 locations.

loia Food Pantry open Oct. 15

There was a special wedding ceremony Saturday, Oct. 1, for Katie Compian and Michael De-Haven. They were united in marriage at Evergreen Baptist Church by Rev. Jeff Morgan. The bride was escorted by her father, Charlie Wendt. There were other family members in attendance from both sides of the family. A reception was held in Bryan. Join me in wishing them many years of happiness together. Area residents were sorry to learn of the death of David Alton Pyle who passed away Monday, Sept. 26, in Stephenville. He was born Sept. 13, 1927 in Iola, the son of Neal M. and Steele Carnes Pyle. There was a visitation Sept. 30 at a Stephenville funeral home. The service was held in the Concord Cemetery and conducted by Rev. Tim Owens, the pastor of Iola Missionary Baptist Church. He was the last of his brothers and sisters.
